Another new Oh Joy for Target collection is officially out! As usual, I absolutely love it and I’m sure a few of these items will be finding a home at my apartment in no time. Shop the collection here!
Had a wonderful weekend in New York! There’s a great (and cheap) bus service I found that takes you directly from DC to NYC in just a couple hours! Affordable and fun little weekend trip! I packed in as much as I possibly could in 48 hours so here are some of my favorite shots. I’ve been to New York several times before, but never during the holidays. It snowed all day Saturday when I was there so that made the city even more magical (in my snow-loving-biased-opinion).
Every neighborhood has cute little Christmas tree stands set up with live trees to purchase! Wish DC did that 🙂
This series begins my (not so brilliant but kind of amazing) idea to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge in a complete white out snow storm…
My hair literally froze like this- stuck to my head from the wind and snow. Got a few funny looks but oh well, it was still a beautiful stroll.
Can barely see the Manhattan skyline through the snow…
Also went for a stroll on the snowy high line- but they had little riding snow blowers clearing everything off.
Most of the plant life on the high line was dead/frozen but I was pleasantly surprised to find holly & berries! The snow falling just made it even more festive.
There’s only a few days left of this amazing exhibit- go check it out if you’re in the area! (David Zwirner)
Snowy Central Park!
Tiffany’s (look closely at the outside of the building)
One of my favorites…. Bergdorf’s holiday window displays!
Love the snow covered brownstones. Classic New York beauty.
Union Square Christmas Market! Stopped there before I left- so adorable and full of amazing gifts for everyone! Too bad I finished my shopping early this year- but I did manage to buy a couple ornaments for myself and a fantastic piece of art from a local shop.
Perfect weekend! Who knows, one day I might call this city “home.”
After decorating my parent’s house, I figured it was about time to do my own apartment! I debated getting a tall (but relatively thin) fake tree this year, but ran out of time and didn’t find one I love quite yet, so hopefully that will be next year. Instead, I popped over to Whole Foods after work and bought a little 3 ft tree (with stand already attached, thankfully.)
Here’s the little tree riding home with me in a cab. The thought of taking it on the bus or metro was a nightmare so I decided a cab was a smarter idea 🙂
Pre-lights and ornaments
I love the reflection of the lights on the floors.
Some of my favorite ornaments. Some old, some homemade with pipe cleaners and some new.
My second tree on the bar (uber tiny- probably 10 inches tall) that my mom made for me in college- look closely it’s KU! Rock Chalk!
The rest of my holiday accessories!
Perfect ending to my decorating evening- watching SNL Christmas.
This will never get old…
