A small tribute to my love of plaid this season…
I helped decorate at my family’s home in Kansas City and chose this big plaid bow to hang atop our beautiful tree this year. It looks great day and night and is a classic pattern that will never go out of style.
This is my second year getting a tiny tree for my studio apartment and I had to bring in a plaid element here as well. I found this mini tree skirt (who knew?!) at Target a couple weeks ago and couldn’t pass it up. Stay tuned for a new post tomorrow with all of my Christmas decor in the apartment!
A couple more changes around the apartment to get ready for the cooler weather!
My system of throwing my work bag, purse, jackets and scarves on the dining table when I get home every night was starting to drive me crazy. I definitely don’t have room in the apartment for a coat rack (as much as I would like one) so I had to come up with another solution.
Meet the cute over door coat rack (I can’t find a link for) from the Container Store. Fits over the outside of my closet door and provides great accessible and stylish storage for all of my coats, bags and even my umbrella!
Now my dining table can function as a dining table rather than an after work “catch all.”
Speaking of the dining table, now that it’s looking cleaned up and functional again… I got a cheap gold charger plate from JoAnn for $3 and thought it would be a festive addition to my Fall produce! I’m sure I’ll be using it for other holiday decor as well. Or just everyday use with a couple candles, too.
Next update: I received my $10 birthday reward in the mail from World Market Explorer program. Sign up! It’s free and you get member discounts and birthday reward. I could buy that entire store if I had the money. I’ve had a basket on my list for awhile so I figured the reward was the perfect sign to buy one. I browsed the multitude of baskets on World Market’s website and found a couple I loved. I decided on this one in “Large” at the store. It fits perfectly between my couch and accent chair and I finally have a place to put all my couch blankets and throws. Storage and Style.
It’s my favorite time of year! And that means decorating for Fall. Picked up some cheap little pumpkins, gourds and squash from Whole Foods.
